What is the difference between BCI Miami and BCI in Chile?

BCI Miami is a specialized business unit for private banking, different to BCI in Chile. To operate with BCI Miami you must become a client and open an account with the bank.

Important: In this unit we do not handle information of BCI clients in Chile.

What resident status must I have in U.S.A. to operate with BCI Miami?

Persons that are legal residents in USA can open an account. Foreign citizens that are non residents in USA and American residents living abroad have no limitations. American citizens living in the country can have accounts and time deposits, investments / securities; as long as they meet the minimum balance requirement to open an account of $ 50,000. American companies, branches of foreign companies or North American companies that comply with minimum balance requirement, can have accounts without restrictions.

We are regulated by the State Bank Laws of Florida and the Banking Laws of the United States of America.

What is the first step to operate with my password over the internet?

You must request your User ID and Password to your account executive through the online application. We will then contact you and give you your user and password.

I lost or forgot my password. What can I do?

You must either contact an Account Representative at 305 BCI 1111 ( 305 224 1111 ), send a message online or contact us at cservice@bcimiami.com

My Internet acces password is inactive, what can I do?

If your password is inactive you must either contact an Account Representative at 305 BCI 1111 ( 305 224 1111 ), send a message online or contact us at cservice@bcimiami.com

I want to change my password, what must I do?

The bank’s online system allows you to change your password as often as you like.

How can I know my password is unique and secret?

Each time you are given a password, you are requested to change it. This way you are the only one knowing your password.

The passwords are stored through an encryption procedure to avoid any unauthorized user from obtaining access to the account.

What responsibility do I have with my personal password?

When you receive your user and password, you are responsible of keeping it strictly confidential. Any giving of passwords to third persons or misuse of the system, frees BCI Miami of all responsibility.

I lost my checkbook, what can I do?

Call the Miami office immediately or contact your account executive to have a stop payment in effect to all corresponding checks.

How much does it cost me to send a order payment to Miami?

This cost depends on the bank that is sending the order payment.

What kind of exchange does the bank apply to an order payment?

The exchange rate depends on the value of the currency at the moment of conducting the order payment.

How can I send money from Miami to another country?

First you must be a client of BCI Miami and simply complete a Transfer Order Request Form.

I am a BCI-Chile client, can I obtain information of my accounts in BCI Miami?

NO. To protect your privacy BCI Miami does not have any kind of information about BCI Chile clients. In the same way, as BCI Chile has no information on BCI Miami clients.

If I make a deposit with checks, how soon will my fund be available?

The availability of funds is controlled by the Regulation CC from the Federal Reserve (see document). In general, if the check is local (Miami area) the funds would be available between two days and five days. For more information, please see the Regulation.

Can I open an account in Miami in Chilean currency or any other one?

You cannot open accounts in Chilean currency at the Miami office. Yet, we can open deposits in other currencies that are not dollars. Should you need further information you can contact us.

How can I apply for an American Express card, as a BCI Miami client?

After completing an American Express Credit Card application you are required to establish a time deposit as guarantee. For an application please contact us directly at 305 BCI 1111 ( 305 224 1111 ) or online at cservice@bcimiami.com

Time deposit balance requirements are US$75,000.00 for the AMEX Gold Reward Card and US$100,000 for AMEX Platinum Card.

Do you offer Traveler Checks?

Yes, for customers of Bci, Miami at the Branch.

I have a problem with my BCI Chile Visa and cannot make a purchase. What must I do?

BCI Miami does not have acces to information of BCI Chile clients, including their spending limit. Therefore, you must communicate directly by dialing the phone number stamped on your card.

How can I know the spending limit of my BCI Chile Visa credit card?

You must communicate directly by dialing the phone number stamped on your card. Bci Miami Branch does not have acces to this information.

If I am a BCI client in Chile, can I receive my account statement in Miami?

Remember that the service given by BCI Miami is totally different to the service at BCI Chile. Consult your account executive in Chile who can give or recommend a solution for you.

Can I use my BCI, Miami Branch Visa® Check Card at any ATM locations?

You can use your BCI, Miami Branch Visa® Check Card at any ATM machine anywhere you see VISA® symbols worldwide. You can use your Visa® Check Card instead of cash, checks or credit cards-and it even replaces any other of your existing ATM cards.

My son/daughter is going to study in the U.S.A., how could BCI Miami Branch help me if I am a BCI Chile client?

BCI Miami Branch could, with your prior authorization, transfer funds can be made to any bank in the United States of America.
